Lot description:

PHRYGIA, Cibyra. Augustus. 27 BC-AD 14. Æ (17mm, 2.86 g, 12h). Laureate head right / Zeus standing left, holding thunderbolt and long scepter. RPC I 2884.4; Naumann 93, lot 293. Earthen brown patina, cleaning scratches. Near VF. Rare variety.

RPC lists this type as having a palm and caduceus at Zeus' feet on the reverse but notes that specimen number four is lacking these details. 2884.4 has, in their place, the final letters of the reverse legend. Additionally, the obverse of both coins has Augustus wearing a faint laurel wreath, not described by RPC. Both coins share the same dies.
